As defined in its articles of association, the general objectives of the ECOLEC Foundation are as follows:

To establish and manage systems for the collection, transport, storage, evaluation, treatment and control of waste from appliances, equipment, electrical and electronic components and their respective containers, in which, with no profit motive in mind, manufacturers, distributors and those responsible for placing said appliances and equipment on the market may participate as a result of their membership, with special focus placed on compliance with waste regulations that may be in force at any time.

To join forces and sign agreements with various state administrations, institutions and organizations, whether on a state, autonomous, provincial, regional or local level.

To collaborate in the maintenance and improvement of natural energy-providing resources by collecting, treating and controlling waste electrical and electronic equipment, as well as to participate in the improvement of sanitary conditions for the population and the environment.

To carry out studies and research in relation to the collection, transportation, storage, evaluation, treatment and control of this type of waste.

To write, publish and distribute books, monographs, brochures as well as other kinds of information in relation to the collection, storage, transportation, treatment and control of this type of waste, including their diffusion in the media.

To promote a culture of sustainable development in relation to electrical and electronic equipment.
