Royal Decree 208/2005 dated 25 February, which transposes directive 2002/96/CE in relation to waste electrical and electronic equipment, establishes the responsibility of manufacturers and importers of these products in relation to the appropriate management of this type of waste. Producers of large and small electrical appliances are the main parties affected by this new regulation since it is estimated that they will have to handle 75% of all of this waste.
